Our Natural Stone Floor Cleaning Process
Carr's Rug Cleaning employs a proven professional stone floor sealing, honing, and polishing process that will get your flooring back to its like-new condition.
Pre-inspection
Each natural stone cleaning and restoration job must be preceded by a thorough pre-inspection. This is where we determine a customized care plan to meet the specific needs of your stone floor.
Preparation
Because your home is important to you, it’s important to us. We take all necessary precautions to protect the areas surrounding your floors and use a dust-free process to minimize the spread of dust and fine particles throughout your home.
Honing
The stone is mechanically resurfaced using diamond abrasives and water to achieve a uniformly honed surface sheen. This process removes walking patterns and all but the deepest scratches and etches.
Polishing
The flooring is mechanically finished to produce a dull, semi-gloss, or high gloss mirror shine. Very light etches, scuffs, and scratches may be removed with the polishing process, but more resurfacing would be needed to remove medium etches and scratches.
Cleaning
Cleaning will vary from floor to floor but will generally involve applying the proper cleaning agents, or brushing by hand or machine, and rinsing with clear water.
Sealing
We apply a clear impregnating sealer to help protect the stone and make it easier to maintain. Depending on the stone type, an enhancer or high gloss protection can be applied.
